Welcome to the Jean Kettell Dance Family! Here you'll find everything you need to know as a new parent for your dancer.
Got questions? Email us and we'll be happy to help!
Our main parking lot is in the rear the building where our main entrance is located (highlighted in green).
Additional parking can be found in the Phillips and Dizzy back parking lot (highlighted in yellow).
There is also street parking available on Holabird Avenue along with the neighboring streets. We ask that our parents be respectful when parking in these common areas and please avoid parking/blocking someone's driveway.
The building entrance is around back along with a small parking lot. Please do not use the door that is located on Holabird Avenue as this is an Emergency Exit only.
If your dancer is a Caterpillar or Butterfly, we recommend you stay in the building or parking lot. If your dancer is a Ladybug or Dragonfly, it is your choice to drop off or stay. All other dancers should be dropped off and you are welcome to come back and watch the last ten minutes or so of thier class before pick up. If you are not walking your dancer in, please work out with your teacher or another staff member so they are not walking though the parking lot alone. We will not dismiss your dancer until your car is in slight.
In the case of inclement weather, we send closure notices through email, text, class moms, band, and social media. We try to make all decisions by 4pm. If we are open, but you are not comfortable attending class, please contact your teacher about your absence.
Our dress code for Caterpillars and Butterflies are pink tights, black leotard, and pink ballet shoes. For all other classes, tan tights, tan ballet shoes, and a black leotard are required. We also ask all students to have thier hair up and out of the face. Please visit our Nimbly Dress Code Site for a complete guide. You don’t have to purchase from this site, but it shows exactly what’s appropriate for each class.
Please contact your student's teacher as soon as you can so they can plan accordingly. All teacher's contact information can be found on our home page. You can also email our Customer Care Representative at jkparentconnection@yahoo.com . We also offer make up classes for all dancers. Please let you teacher know if you would like to attend a make up class.
Dance Studio Pro, or DSP as you'll hear it commonly referred to, is the online class and event management system that we use. This is where you can view your dancer's class schedule, profile, pay tuition or other extra events as offered through the year, and much more. Download the DSP app from the Apple store or Google Play store.
There are several people you can reach out to. For almost all questions, you can reach out to our Customer Care Representative at jkparentconnection@yahoo.com, and they can connect you with the appropriate person. For simple questions or messages, each class also has a class mom that acts as a liason between staff and family. If you are not sure who your class mom is, please as our Customer Care Representative.
How is tuition calculated? Tuition is calculated by the length of the class. We do offer discounts for multiple classes taken.
When is tuition billed and due? Tuition is added to student accounts on the 20th of each month to be paid on the first of the next month. For example, the tuition installment that is due on October 1st, get billed to the account on September 20th.
Do you charge a late fee? At this time, we do not charge a late fee. We do ask that you reach out to us if you know that your payment will be late so that we can make arrangements with you and note your account.
How can I pay tuition? The preferred and most convenient way to pay your tuition is through your parent portal. You can use an online check with no fee, or a credit card with an added fee to cover our processing fees. We also recommend setting your account up for autopay. Tuition can also be paid by using our locked drop box in our lobby. Please note that these payments take longer to process and you may not see them immediately on your account. You will be emailed a receipt once it has been processed.
I chose autopay. When can I expect my account to be drafted? Accounts on autopay are run on the first of each month, September thru June.
Why is tuition broken into monthly installments? Why is there a payment due on June 1st when we are only dancing for part of the month? For our regular season that includes a holiday show (for Butterfly level and above) as well as a spring recital for all students, as well as classes from the beginning of September until the recital ends, we bill for a season price. There may be some months that have 4 lessons, others may have 3 or 5. As a convenience for our families, the seasonal tuition is broken into 10 equal installments, however, depending on the class level (Caterpillar, Butterfly, and Ladybugs), you may only have 9 payments. If you prefer not to make a payment for June, we can adjust your tuition to a nine month pay plan instead. We can accommodate any pay plan that you like with a maximum of 10 installments.
What does my tuition cover?
